Introduction to Alpine Climbing

The high peaks of the Sierra Nevada are calling! In this course, we cover steep snow climbing equipment and techniques such as crampon and ice axe use. We also cover alpine rock climbing skills such as efficiency of movement, rope management and basic anchoring. This is a 4 day course, with several days spent in the backcountry ascending a classic climb!
