Bear Creek Spire

13,713' North Arete 5.8 or Northeast Ridge 5.5
Two Day Climb

Bear Creek Spire offers two classic Sierra climbs with an unforgettable summit.   Located in the Rock Creek Drainage just south of Mammoth.

The North Arete 5.8 offers a classic steeper alpine rock climb for those with more multi pitch experience.

The Northeast Ridge 5.5 offers a great introduction to alpine rock climbing. It is a long moderate ridge with sections of technical climbing.

Both routes are best done in a two day climb.

Day 1 Hike up to the amazing Dade Lake and camp for the night.

Day 2 Wake up early and climb Bear Creek Spire.  Return to camp and hike out that afternoon
